Allen, TX, January 2004 -- ColorDynamics has installed the Videojet "Print Pro" ink jet printing system. The system consists of two, 2 inch print heads that allow printing in two different locations on the same substrate or using the two heads together to print one four inch area. Each print head has 128 ink streams that generate up to 128 dpi, or can be double stroked to generate 256 dpi. Each unit can print a separate ink color simultaneously. The print quality meets or exceeds any ink jet printer in the market today. The system is controlled by a VIP 9100 Videojet controller with the ability to produce variable font sizes and a full range of bar codes and graphics.

A MEK free, solvent-based ink is utilized by the print heads. The benefit is significantly faster drying time on a wide array of substrates, including plastics and aqueous coated stock, while being more environmentally friendly than MEK based inks.

The printer runs an outside print application through a Cheshire mail base. The unit is equipped with both a friction feeder and a shuttle feeder. This system will print on materials ranging from post cards to perfect bound books. A Cheshire tab sealer was included in the purchase. The tab sealer can apply two tabs simultaneously running inline with the base or as a stand-alone application.

ColorDynamics has installed the BCC Mail Management Software system to support the ink jet printing equipment. This system sorts any mail list for release to the post office utilizing the best postal discounts available. Postal documentation, statements, container tags, print pallet identification and mailing costs are all calculated and printed automatically.
